I know it’s doomed anyway but the mortar condition on the 50s era wall through those doorways is less than stellar...

Keep the little pocket between the door and brick wall, the teachers can stuff the children there when they’re acting up...
It’s amazing how every elementary school built in the 50s looks the same. I’ve been all over the country, and an elementary school in Arizona or Oklahoma looks the same as mine did In Pennsylvania. It’s uncanny - and uncanny how quickly they were throwing these things up.
